When I first came to this apartment it looked very nice. Very nice landscaping and spacious apartments. They showed me the model apartment on the first floor and I was in awe it was soo nice. Then they moved me to one of the buildings and it was a dump. There was trash everywherethe maintance people don't take out the trash or fix anything unless you keep on complaining. There are 2 elevators and one of them don't work so you always have to use the stairs. I had cockroaches in my apartment when I first moved in so I had to take care of the problem myself by using roach killer. The hallways smell really moldy and rotten. When it rains thats when the smell gets really strong. We have very loud neighbors playing music that makes my walls vibrate. The neighbors are disgustings throwing there trash wherever they want to. I hear gunshots going off almost everyday across the street. It's not good to raise children in a neighborhood like this.very dangerous. It may look nice on the outside but don't be deceived. I tell anyone who thinks about moving here to please reconsider.

Years at this apartment: 2007 2008 I came to Miami looking for a place to stay at the last minute. Had I done more research, Oak Grove Apartments would not be an option. We all have heard of the tour they give someone who is interested in renting- they show you some gentrified apartment that is not too far away from the office. Always look around and do a thorough check. On the outside, this place looks decent compared to the other poor quality complexes on the avenue, but looks can be deceiving! Here are some things I endured during my first 6 months of staying with them:
1.Garbage disposal does not turn on
2.had to go to the emergency room, due to the mold and highly toxic paint they've used
3.Police was shot by one of the building's tenants
4.I had to call the police because I was being stalked by a young man. The only thing the police said that he could do is allow him to come in my apartment to have a talk. He wanted me to give him my phone number!
5.There was sewage water for weeks in the lobby
6.The elevator's certification in the C building has been expired since 05.
7.There are plenty of insects species here, so if you have a school project, you'll definitely discover some new breed of cockroaches.
8.My lights in the bathroom will not turn on if the tenant above me has theirs on.
9.The next door neighbors shower is adjacent to my walk in closet, which has resulted in an aggregation of mold, mildew, and spores because the water leaks into my closet.
10.The maintenance men are beyond trash. I was also stalked by one of them. One day, he was on my porch looking into my living room.
11.I had asked maintenance to fix a water leakage problem and came home to discover that my professor's $250 book was gone!

Years at this apartment: 2007 2007 Oak Grove has gone through alot of changes and good changes and very bad changes. The residents that were at Oak grove before the new management took over was very nasty and scary. Now this has changes and it has gotten better. Although the managment in the office has also changed now you have to get aquanted with the new faces that really do not give you that sence of trust and the sence of honesty.
Although it has changes on the outside they continue to fool the people for the inside. Be real be honest and treat the new comer fair and with the truth. Can you sleep at night knowing that you lied.
