This question seems a little odd being asked today.Ever since people,ordinary or celebrities,started to wear them,no body seems to bother asking such questions.And U.G.G has become simplyUltra G.o.r.G.e.o.u.s.
However,if time goes back to 1930s,the situation would be totally different.Back then,only males wore U.G.G.s.And they were even called F.l.u.g Boots instead.
How come?
Because everything that is related to the male gender has nothing to do with fashion back then.Of course today is a whole other day.
The boots,made coarsely,involved no subtle craftsmanship,no tiniest decor,are simply not good looking.The sheepskins are cut and ditched,and then attached to a simple sole.This kind of footwear has no match in its simplicity and coarse.

So,why do people finally fall in love with them despite its ugliness appearance?
