Trichorrhexis nodosa is another very common hair disease that results from any trauma to hair including blow drying and exposure of hair to harmful chemicals. It can also result from aggressive brushing. According to the experts genetic as well as environmental factors can contribute towards the development of trichorrhexis nodosa. In this disease the discoloration of the hair and breakage close to scalp can be seen. The growth of the hair is hampered in trichorrhexis nodosa. Another common hair disease called loose anagen syndrome usually influences the children who have fair hair. The abnormal morphology of the hair causes the hair to become thin and impairs the growth of the hair. The hair fall is a significant sign of the loose anagen syndrome and hair usually fall in clumps. The scalp of the patients suffering from loose anagen syndrome does not show inflammation or scarring. This disease is thought to be inherited.
