subject: Three Must Haves On A Camping Trip [print this page]

When you're going out on a camping trip, there are a few items that should always be brought along by everyone who is going on the trip with you. These are essentials that you must not go without whenever you go camping. Aside from the more obvious things like food, water, and whatever else you've got planned on bringing, there are a few people who might forget an item or two amidst all the fun and exciting things you've got planned ahead over the weekend.

Don't leave your tent without some insect repellent on.

Don't let the bed bugs and any other bug out there bite. There are a lot of things that you must never forget about bringing whenever you're out on a camping trip. One of these things should be an insect repellent. That's because when you're out on the woods, there are a whole lot of bugs that like to bite and make you itch if they get to reach you. There are a couple of ways to prevent yourself from feeling the discomfort and itching all over your body. So what other reasons are there for you to bring along with you some insect repellent the next time you head for the woods. When you're in the woods, you're exposed to all kinds of insects like mosquitoes and everything else that could possibly dwell in the woods. Bites from these insects can be really painful and annoying because they are going to itch real soon.

A sleeping bag

Now if you're not a caveman, sleeping on soil or a slab of rock would prove to be quite an uncomfortable night for you to experience. Having a sleeping bag around will be a much needed convenience and necessity for you in terms of sleeping, or just wasting the day away when you're just lying down enjoying a good book. Another good thing about bringing along some sleeping bags with you is that some of these come built in with a thick blanket already. With that thing coming in handy, getting through those cold nights wouldn't be so hard to come by anymore. Another added bonus is the comfort of being able to sleep on a soft surface. It's no bed, but it sure beats sleeping on a rock.

Your mobile phone

It may not seem like you would be a rough neck if you brought along with you your mobile phone on a camping trip. Having a mobile phone with you means that you would still stay connected to the outside world. So in case anything happens, you're always a call away to someone who could bring some help. Take for example one of your friends had an accident and none of you know first aid. Would you be able to risk it hoping that your friend would be okay and there wouldn't be any complications whatsoever? If you think that something worse might come out of it, then why not call the proper authorities immediately? And that's why it's important for you to bring along your phone. Just make sure you have a reception where you're headed.
