I move to Ecuador and the small city of Cuenca.
Cuenca, Ecuador is high up the Andes Mts. with a wonderful year round temp. of 75 degrees average. The medical services here are first class and low cost. Roads, communcations and infrastructure are very good for South America.
The people here are healthy, much healthier than they are in the U.S. Fruits and vegetables are plentiful and very fresh.
Internet, telephone, cable televsion, DirectTV in English, all these are readily available here.
Housing costs are very reasonable. I am renting an apartment while I am searching for a house. My apartment is on the 5th floor with a great view. My apartment is a 3 bedroom, 4 1/2 bath with maids quarters (another bedroom and bath) . The square footage is 3200 sq. ft. With electric garage door and 2 parking spaces. Building has 24 hr. security. Otis elevator.
I am looking at 5,000 sq. ft. homes for about $195,000 USD. You can purchase apartments or homes from $60K to over 1 million dollars here.
Arts, movie theatres are all available here. Movies are in English with spanish sub titles.
If you want American franchises, they are here, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, Burger King and more. However, I encourage you to try the wonderful local restaurants here. They are plentiful, clean, with great food and good prices.
