subject: Indoor House Plants -- Bring In Life To Your House Having Indoor House Plants [print this page]

USE INDOOR HOUSE PLANTS TO LIVEN UP YOUR HOME

Different people have different talents, and some find even the simple task of keeping indoor house plants alive impossible to achieve, while others have rooms bursting with healthy, flourishing, colourful plants, it just doesn't seem fair does it? One thing which all will agree on though, is that there is nothing quite like strategically placed indoor flowering plants to really bring a room to life, maybe brightening up a dull corner or a bold window sill display to be enjoyed from both indoors and out.

So what's the secret to keeping indoor house plants alive and kicking? Do you really need to have green fingers? Is there such a thing as green fingers? Is it important to know the difference between a potted palm and a fern? So many questions but where lies the answer?

One very important consideration before buying any indoor house plant is where you want to put it. Some plants are fussier about that sort of thing than others. You should be able to ask advice at any garden centre or check out the website, there are always plenty of experts who are willing to share the benefit of their experience and give some friendly, helpful advice.

Different plants thrive in different conditions, and indoor flowering plants are no exception. In fact, most plants will be quite happy as long as they have sufficient light, sufficient water (not too much, that's one of the biggest problems actually, the never ending cycle of drought followed by flood) and are kept free from drafts.

Some varieties of indoor flowering plants are actually happy outdoors too. One good idea is to simply bring in plants which are in bloom to get the full enjoyment of the flowers and the perfume, and then take them back outside when the flowers have died down and replace them with another if possible. That way you can really enjoy the flowers to the full.

Whether you consider yourself to be good with plants or not, there is certainly no easier way to brighten up a dull room than to fill it with a variety of healthy indoor house plants. The lovely greens of the foliage and the bright colours of the flowers can quickly give a room a whole new lease of life.
