Just like all other industries, the hotel industry has also been affected by the economic crunch. Five star hotels and above are really experiencing the negative effects of bad economy. These hotels were thriving because of the large number of business users and business travelers and now companies are tightening their travel budgets and the executives are being sent to stay in three and four star hotels. This has put considerable pressure on smaller establishments to offer the highest quality that they can give.

But they cant afford to purchase ultra luxury hotel equipments to provide their guests the amount of luxury that they expect. This also exerts more pressure on the hotel suppliers to provide hotels quality equipments at cheaper prices to smaller hotels as their main customers 5 star hotels are struggling cope up with the economic downturn. To meet the needs of smaller hotels, hotel suppliers cut cost in production of quality products. Some of the hotel suppliers stay away from middlemen when acquiring products from factory and some of them create their own manufacturing units to stay in the game.

Nevertheless, cheaper hospitality equipments dont mean lower quality. These days, manufacturers put more emphasis on value for money rather than luxury and exorbitance. These products still look good and stylish while having good quality. Manufacturers are now employing newer and technologies to reduce the cost of manufacturing and still provide high quality hospitality equipments.

Some of the manufacturers of hospitality equipments cut cost and loss by discontinuing expensive products which are no more profitable to sell. Most of them are exploring new opportunities in manufacturing and produce new products that tailor to the needs of the target market, which is dominated by three and four star hotels. Cost cutting happens everywhere. Even hotels are now more inclined to provide the guests with lesser amount of amenities like free soap, shampoo, shower gel etc. and since they are free, guests dont feel the difference.

Hotels can also purchase simple yet classic hospitality equipments. These products are timeless and can easily be replaced should the need arise. With similar style and indoor furnishings, one can make the hotel look classic while using cheaper hospitality equipments. More intricate and detailed furniture are not only expensive but also hard to replace. Purchasing cheaper products makes sense if you feel you would replace the furniture in the near future. Some hotel suppliers also make custom hotel equipments. If you can find them, you should also make sure if they will be able to provide the same service in future.
