subject: Is It Possible to Erase a Forehead Line? [print this page]

A forehead line or wrinkle is actually a culmination of events that may have started when you were very young. If you were a smart kid or if your parents were smart, you always wore a good sun block when you went out in the sun.

If not, that's okay; there are things that you can do, today. They might not turn back the clock, but they could make you look like the clock has stopped ticking.

Although the sun is not the only cause of wrinkles and other signs of aging, it is responsible for about 90% of them. What happens is that UV rays of sun cause increased production and activity of free radical molecules.

Free radicals are our friends, in some ways. They actually help to fight infection. But, they are also a cause of cellular aging, particularly when they get frenzied. UV radiation causes them to be very frenzied.

The body has a natural balance that normally keeps free radicals under control. Every cell of the body contains antioxidants like coenzyme Q10, which work to neutralize the radical molecules. But, if you spend hours in the sun, the antioxidants lose the battle and the free radicals win.

Is it possible to reverse a line on forehead caused by free radical damage by applying creams containing coenzyme Q10 and other antioxidants? That's a question that researchers have asked on a frequent basis. At first, it looked like the answer was "no".

In the latest studies, a "reduced" form of coenzyme Q10 was used. The molecules of coenzyme Q10 are normally too large to penetrate deeply. The reduced form will penetrate through nearly all of the skin's layers, absorbing and neutralizing free radicals, while repairing damage that has already occurred.

Coenzyme Q10 combined with natural vitamin E is even more effective. If a line on forehead skin is your concern and it was caused by free radical damage, which is more than likely, then using a cream containing the antioxidant formula should make a big difference. In one study, a 30% reduction in wrinkles was seen after three months of use.

Other ingredients can work in synergy with and increase the benefits of vitamin E and coenzyme Q10. There are ingredients available today that will stimulate the production of new fibers and prevent the loss of hyaluronic acid.

One of the reasons that the skin seems to "crack" is because of low levels of hyaluronic acid. It's almost like glue that holds the skin's cells together.

If we can boost levels of hyaluronic acid, we can erase a forehead line. With the ingredients on the market, today, it's possible.
