subject: Class A Rvs Are Taking Hold Of The Market [print this page]

Class A RV sales are continuing to increaseClass A RV sales are continuing to increase. January began the upward trend with numbers increasing across the board over January 2009. Generally when economic times get tough, people hold off spending on big-ticket items. Seeing people's interest in Class A RVs is one sign the economy is getting better and the worst of the recession has passed.

RV shows across the country have seen in increase in attendance and sales. January seemed to kick off the turn of the recession. While RV shows have reported an increased interest in lightweight travel trailers and pop-up campers, they have also seen Class A sales rise, however, no one quite expected the numbers that have been recorded.

RVIA's Richard Curtain reports Class A motorhomes will likely jump 90% in 2010 over 2009 with a continued increase in sales into 2011 although not at the same rates. Throughout the country sales tripled during the month of June, seeing 27,000 units selling. This the best sales record for Class A RVs in the past two years.

Some of the manufacturers people are flocking to include Monaco, Newmar and Forest River. People tend to buy brands they know and ones that have a good reputation for quality and dependability. Class A RVs are the luxury line of RVs and can be had almost any way you like them. Think leather couches, LCD TVs in the living room and bedroom. Maybe a Jacuzzi would tickle your fancy. You can pretty much decorate the interior any way you like. Choose a floor plan, accessories and you're ready to hit the road.

As mentioned previously, lightweight travel trailers have also been a bit hit. This is in part due to their economical nature, but also to technological advances that allow them to be pulled behind trucks and mid-size vehicles. Their aerodynamic designs help with fuel economy and they provide enough room for the entire family. These trailers make sense for those looking to spend less but have equal access to comfortable outdoor camping.

If it seems like it's all or nothing with RV sales, that's partially true. When people are concerned with money, they invest in safe items, such as real estate or bonds. Since RVs depreciate in value like any car, they aren't the first choice for an investment in a recession. However, when people are more confident, they resume travel plans and for some, traveling by Class A RV is the only way to go.

The RV is a great indicator as to how the economy as a whole is doing and this year is proving that things are starting to turn around.

The sales trend that has continued to grow throughout 2010 is showing great signs of recovery. People are starting to relax and head out on the road again. Vacations are essential to our wellbeing and to our creative and loving processes.

Class A RVs and lightweight travel trailers are stealing consumer's interest this year. While next year numbers are expected to even out with a slight increase, those looking to buy an RV should know now is a great time to make the investment. Owning an RV will allow you to get out on the road and experience the natural and local attractions around you.
