Now that you have tentatively chosen your niche, you are not really done. You must also narrow down your topic. Maybe you chose "gardening" as your niche. That is a great topic, but it is REALLY general. Break it down and address a specific consumer. You might choose perennials, or gardening supplies, vegetable gardening, gardening with kids, garden design, etc. The possibilities are endless. You want to appeal to a specific group for potential sales.
Closely related to the idea of specializing your niche is the need to consider competition. There are currently 73,000,000 Google results for "gardening," but 124,000 for "container gardening." So, container gardening would be a better niche to target. You need to do your homework.
Take some time, do your internet research, think like a potential customer and get to work!
