subject: Solar Panels Cost - Do The Benefits Justtify The Investment? [print this page]

As we move in to the next generation of energy efficiency we need to answer the question that hangs on most people's minds Is the cost worth the investment of installation? Does the cost of solar panels truly merit the money. Will it pay off in the long run? Is it worth our time to consider the commitment?

As an expert solar energy consultant, I have found, so far, that the investment is worth it. This is such a new invention and even newer for residential home owners. The cost can be large. The savings in energy can be large as well. Some solar panels installation companies also offer a whopping 15% profit for your investment for extra energy generated from your panels (provided you have the space on top of your roof or on your extra land.

As with all new inventions, and new ways of thinking, it takes some time for all the bugs to be fixed. And, as usual, the cost will eventually drop. Remember how much a plasma TV was priced at when they first made their appearance?

For now, the cost is a tad high. But from an environmental point of view the cost is insignificant. Our environmental footprint is the real issue. Most of us have very nice lives. We want to do our part to make sure our lofty lifestyles stay lofty. If you are reading this article then you are most likely not working in a field for a menial day's pay. You can afford the investment because it will pay off.

At first, you might want to start by investing in some solar roof fans. These are ventilation units that pull all the harmful heat and moisture out of your attic areas. The prices range from $200 to $1200 for each fan. Obviously the higher end fans are of superior quality and have a lifetime warranty.

The fans are extremely useful because most roof ventilation systems are very basic. They rarely ever adequately move the damaging hot air and moisture out through the top of any roof. In fact, 90% of homes have hideously poor roof or attic ventilation. This alone creates a huge amount of damage to the insulation and roof structure. And the cost for an overworked air conditioner in the hot summer months can really add up if all that trapped heat starts to migrate down in to the living quarters.

Solar panels cost is a different matter.

These panels range from $5000 to $50,000 and up. The good news is that you can turn your commitment into a 20 year, high-profit investment. I also believe that this investment is excellent now because it will soon become common place for everyone soon. Why? Because the more popular solar panels become the less investment return will be payed. You can lock in to 15% now. 5 years from now, when everyone is doing it, you might be lucky to receive 5%.

Moving forward, we all need to take a little time and look in to the benefits of solar panels cost. The sun's energy is gigantic. In my humble yet expert opinion, it is the very best from of energy available to home owners when considering the future of our planet.
