subject: Want To Know Why You Shouldn't Use Liposuction To Remove All The Fat From Your Legs? [print this page]

Many women put on weight on their legsMany women put on weight on their legs. This is natural, especially in the thigh, but the distribution of fat is predetermined by genetics. Sometimes leg and ankle fat is particularly stubborn and will not come off easily through traditional weight loss methods. Liposuction can trim up a small area of the leg, but care must be taken to leave some fat to preserve the appearance of the leg.

It's natural for women to store fat on their legs. The thigh is especially common for almost all women as a fat storage area. Many surgeons are very experienced with removing fat from the thighs because of the popularity of liposuction from this area.

But there's a great deal of variety among women and every individual has a unique fat distribution.

It may seem unfair, but fat distribution is determined by genetics and there's not much that anyone can do about it. Although everyone has the same basic muscle structure, people store fat in very different ways.

Some people naturally have excessive pockets of fat on the outer though, some on the calves or ankles and some on the back or inner thigh.

Liposuction can only correct this genetic distribution to a point. Even when a few pounds of fat have been removed from a certain area, the general shape of the leg is left the same as it was before.

It may seem tempting to want to remove as much fat as possible from a woman's leg. Many women want to have this done when they have a bumpy or irregular texture to their fat.

The problem is that some fat must be left on the leg in order for it to look right! The female body is naturally fatty, and removing excessive amounts of fat destroys the natural beauty of the leg.

When a leg has had too much fat removed, it will take on a muscular and very masculine appearance. It will lose its soft curves and resemble a male leg.

Aside from looking masculine, there's another issue with removing too much fat.

Fat cells that are removed during liposuction never come back. They are broken and sucked out. But that doesn't mean that a recipient of the surgery can never gain weight again.

On the contrary, a recipient of liposuction can gain weight in fat cells in other areas of the body. When a person who has had excessive liposuction of the legs gains weight, they will store the fat in other places, such the belly, back, breasts, and arms.

This can be embarrassing and unattractive as people begin to look disproportionate. It is better to leave some fat on the legs. If weight is gained in the future, the result will not look unnatural.
