Easy healthy diets are the craze among people who want to lose weight. With the variety of diet plans and options available in books, magazines and the internet, people are now more discerning as to which diet would make them lose unwanted pounds but at the same time improve their health and would be easy to follow. Alas, skeptics wonder if it would be too much to ask to have a diet that is both easy and healthy. Not only is it possible, but it has been done.

According to studies on longevity and life expectancies of people around the world, the Japanese always come out on top. Men and women from Japan live longer than any other nationality on earth. They also have the lowest rates of obesity anywhere. Coincidence, one may wonder, or is there something about them? Not genes, because Japanese people who adapt to Western lifestyles also become obese. Thus, it can be concluded that there is really something about traditional Japanese lifestyles that make them live longer, particularly in their diet.

Japanese habits and attitudes towards food are a picture of discipline and art, something that contributes to their longevity and their ability to stay out of obesity. Thus, their eating habits are prime examples of easy healthy diets that involve a lot of fish vegetables and fruits. They eat their food slowly and mindfully, in small portions. All these contribute to their generally slim figures, as nutrients in their food abound, plus their brains get enough time to realize that they are full already.

Their manner of preparing food is also a contributor to their slimness. Most Japanese cuisine is prepared naturally, without too many cooking procedures (including frying and such) that destroy the food's vitamins and minerals. In addition, when they prepare their food, they take great pains in making it visually appealing, which makes their sense of sight full, so they don't get too hungry.

Easy healthy diets have long existed just look at traditional Japanese diets. No wonder they are healthy and slim. Anyone can follow that diet plan; after all the Japanese have been doing it for centuries.
