The Ghost Rush Nuke
The goal of the Ghost Rush Nuke is NOT to obliterate your opponent with the nukes, but is to destroy your opponents economy so that your army has an easier time dealing with them.
Preparing for the Ghost Rush Nuke
You'll want to use a standard build of Marauders into Thors and Tanks or into an air based build. A decent sized army will be necessary not only for attacking your opponent, but for defending your base when the time comes. Once your factory is complete, you'll need to create 2 ghost academies. Ideally you want to have multiple nukes at the ready. However, In Starcraft 2 each academy is only allowed to have one nuke. If you create multiple academies, it gives you the ability to have multiple nukes at your disposal. Before you begin training your first nuke, you'll want to train the Ghost Cloaking skill first. I can't stress how critical this is. If you don't do this your ghost can be killed easily if she is not cloaked. If you have any extra resources you should also train the additional ghost energy which will allow you stay cloaked longer.
Attacking
Since your goal with the nuke is to weaken you opponent's economy, that is the area you want to attack. You'll want to go for their minerals and their workers first so you can strategically weaken them. Ideally you want to sneak into their base from behind while avoiding anything that is capable of detecting cloaked units such as Overseers, Turrets and Photo Cannons. On maps where you can get behind their minerals from the main path but are on a cliff you won't be able to nuke the area on the cliff unless you have sight. If this happens use your Orbital Command, scan the area and quickly fire off a nuke. You will lose sight from the scan, but your nuke will have already been targeted and will still reach its intended victim. If pulled off correctly the ghost nuke rush can be one of the more effective Terran strategies for Starcraft 2.
