The Pre-Construction Information Pack contains:-

A project summary

Information about the existing environment, services and site conditions, the existing buildings and Clients' undertakings and the design and use of materials in the new works to assist the Principal Contractor in preparing method statements and risk assessments for safely carrying out the work on site.

An assessment of identified risks/hazards specific to the project as far as can be ascertained at the pre-construction stage.

Information to aid future maintenance works on site.

Guidance on the contents of the Construction Phase Plan.

Requirements for the contents and format of the project's Health and Safety File.

The Principal Contractor shall prepare a Construction Phase Plan for inspection and comment on suitability by the Client and CDM Coordinatorprior to work commencing on site.Guidance on the contents of this plan shall be as set out later in Section 3.0 of this document.

The Construction Phase Plan must be available on site and is to be updated as the project proceeds.

The Construction Phase Plan must cover and include all, at least, of the items set out in 3.2 of this Section by the CDM Coordinator.

The Construction Phase Plan shall cover and include as a minimum requirement all of the items set out below.

The Principal Contractor is to develop the Pre-Construction Information Pack to create a Construction Phase Plan. This shall be submitted to the CDM Co-ordinator for inspection, evaluation and comment by the CDM Coordinator and Client prior to the work commencing on site.
