subject: The Lagoon Park In Salt Lake City [print this page] This amusement park in Salt Lake City has over 45 rides that range from merry-go-rounds to extreme roller coasters with top speeds and jaw dropping plunges. The rides are designed for the enjoyment of everyone, from skittish little kids to thrill-seeking adults.
There are rides that get you soaking wet as you plunge through white water rapids, and rides that air you out as they raise you over 100 feet in the air and then drop you straight down at high-pitched screaming speeds. The X-Venture Zone at the Lagoon Amusement park provides extreme rides for the adult population.
The Catapult launches riders over 200 feet in the air; at the peak of ascension, they will experience a moment of weightlessness, and then they will bounce up and down while spinning in an orbit before returning to the loading dock. The Sky Coaster raises dare devils to be strapped into a full body harness and then raised 143 feet above ground.
The participants are then dropped to a free fall toward the Earth, only allowing 6 feet from them and the ground at the bottom. The X-Venture Zone also has the Double Thunder Raceway and the Top Eliminator, which are both race tracks.
The Top eliminator allows drivers to reach speeds of 75 mph in a small go-cart. Lagoon-A-Beach is the ultimate aquatic playground in Utah.
This is six acres of water slides, hydro-tubes, fountains, waterfalls, swimming, and soaking fun. There is tidal wave pool for surfing, river rapids for inner-tubing, tunnels, islands, lagoons, and much more.
Every year in October, the Lagoon Park plays host to Frightmares! There are four different walk-thru attractions for all different ages.
The Spook-A-Boo Walk-Thru is a fun, non-scary attraction for small children full of friendly creatures. Psycho Dave's Salvage Yard is a somewhat scary junk yard maze for kids.
The Fun House of Fear is a haunted house full of clowns, which can be scary for kids or adults with coulrophobia. Deception is a house of illusion meant for adults and not children.
The Pioneer Village at Lagoon takes visitors back 100 years to the Old West. The village has been constructed to look just like a pioneer community that may have existed in the late 1800's.
The community has 42 authentic 19th century stores and buildings that are furnished with artifacts. The Pioneer Village also has a small arm collection that includes guns, slingshots, crossbows and cannons.
There is a carriage hall which has a large variety of wheeled conveyance used at the turn of the century. There is also the Rock Chapel, which was originally constructed in Coalville, Utah in 1853 as a courthouse.
The village also includes things like rustic wooden sidewalks, an ice cream parlor, a one-room school house, a log house, smokehouse, millinery shop, clock shop, tool museum, hardware shore, cobbler shop, co-op, print shop, music hall, gingerbread house, doll house, and town hall. The Lagoon also has a large RV park next to it that guests can park and stay while there.
The park provides hook-ups for electricity, water, and sewer; and has amenities for guests that include a general store, laundry mat, restrooms and showers, pay phones, bicycle and walking trail, and a sandwich and ice cream shop. Guests must make reservations to stay at the R.V. Park, and may stay at the park for up to 7 days.
The Lagoon also provides family entertainment in the form of special events and daily musical performances. Some of the special events include Extreme Parrots, which gives viewers a fun, colorful, live show where they can interact with one-of-a-kind birds.
The park also houses a Broadway Corner in Lagoon's Carousel Theatre. This attraction has performers sing musical numbers from various famous broadways shows including Wicked, Mamma Mia, Funny girl, Shrek, and many more.
The Carousel Theatre is also home to The Great American Jukebox. This venue plays popular music for people to listen and dance to.
The song list includes rock-n-roll, pop, and country hits made famous by artist like Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Elvis, and many more.
Whatever kind of fun-filled experience you want to experience, the Lagoon Park can provide it for you. It is fun for kids and adults, families and students.
