subject: Hotels In Jersey For An Amazing Experience [print this page]

There are a number of small islands that exist off the coast of mainland Britain, a small group of these islands that is situated off the south of the UK and close the French coast. This group of Islands is known as the Channel Islands and the two largest islands in this group are Guernsey and Jersey. This article will be focussing on Jersey, what there is to do there as a tourist, and its appeal as a holiday destination.

Jersey is actually the largest of the Channel Islands and is closest to the northwest coast of France; the island has a strong link with the Dukedom of Normandy. Despite their being a number of tussles between the British and the French about who is to govern the Island, it is now under the reign of the British crown and adopts, for the most part, British mainland laws. So with the brief history lesson over, it's time to delve into the islands culture and heritage.

From arts and crafts to historical attractions, Jersey has it all. The place has been an island for over 8000 years and history is all around you when you set foot on the island. You can explore the main city of St Helier where you will find a lot of the hotels in Jersey and do a spot of shopping or venture to the historic coastline for views of the other Channel islands and of course France. There are great walks to take and the beaches are not only safe but also beautiful and a great place to take a swim or just sunbathe.

You won't want to miss the gardens either, as soon as you step foot on Jersey you will notice the abundance of flowers; this is due to the temperate climate that exists. There are also a number of wildlife parks to spend the afternoon in and when you've run out of steam there are a number of great restaurants to enjoy some local cuisine - the seafood in particular is a firm favourite here. As Jersey is a relatively small island you can cover a lot of ground using a car or you may choose to use the excellent bus services to get around.

If you are planning a trip away, and Jersey is your chosen destination then it is a great idea to plan ahead, especially in terms of accommodation, unfortunately for the tourist there is little ultra low budget accommodation on Jersey and as such it pays to keep an eye and ear out for a deal. Searching for hotels in Jersey is simple and easy; you can use the Internet to have a good look around and to establish a number of hotels in Jersey that fit your budget and expectations. As in many tourist destinations the summer months are the most popular and prices of the hotels in Jersey reflect this, so if you are working to a tight budget then try and avoid high season. Once you have chosen from the range of hotels in Jersey you can rest assured that you will enjoy your stay on the island.
