Isn't technology greatIsn't technology great. Do you type? Do you do research. Has your child said "why", and you've gone straight online to research. Have you been invited by an electronic invite, or maybe that's how you check up on play dates with your childs playmates? I certainly have. The computer contains our master schedule, our reminders, even if we forget what's going on, all I do is go online and search emails. I check my medical records, renew prescriptions, even pay bills online! With this ease comes the downside. That is, migraines, sore neck, back, arms, even fingers.

My doctor has told me that my migraines are caused by the pulling on muscles as I hunch over my computer. I first tried neck massage skeptically, but found it such a relaxing way to relieve my aches and pains. As I didn't have a doctor recommendation, I just went to my local massage spa and had a consultation. I clicked with someone, and she became my massage therapist.

Massage is the manipulation of superficial layers of muscle and connective tissue. This is done to enhance function and promote relaxation and well-being. If you are looking to modern medicine to cure your issues, maybe you are looking in the wrong place. The art of massage dates way back, back to over 3000 years. It has been documented by the ancient Hindus, Persians and Egyptians. They all applied forms of massage for many ailments. Hippocrates even wrote papers recommending the use of rubbing and friction for joint and circulatory problems. Neck massage is not an ancient cure, but a modern cure based on ancient methods.

A neck massage (as was mine) is performed while the recipient is sitting facing the back of a chair with the neck exposed. The masseuse will gently squeeze and knead your shoulder firmly, and then will switch to the other one. He/she will do this for around a minute and then switch to the other shoulder back and forth. The neck muscles are then gently squeezed while relaxing and the recipient may also be instructed to move shoulders to the ears, hold then relax. This, again, is done on both sides. The neck is then rubbed in a circular motion from the base up toward the skull. A typical neck massage may take about 10 minutes or if necessary and/or part of a larger massage the experience could take much longer

It is easy to find a massage therapist. If you are looking for a neck specialist, you should concentrate on credentials. Some will have basic qualifications, others will have better. You can ask your doctor to refer you to one he/she works with. Sometimes this is even covered by insurance. There are so many different types of massage, and it is done in a variety of ways with a variety of ancient remedies.

Of all the massages available, so far I have found that a neck massage is the most convenient for the amount of relief and least amount of main. A neck massage is performed while the recipient is clad, but in a low necked garment. Other massages are performed on a person partially clad, or nude. Do you think this sounds good? Ask your doctor for a referral, or simply find your local spa. You're sure to enjoy this.
