San Diego Vacations: Spring Break Ideas

One tradition for colleges is Spring break which falls around Easter and allows college students to spend some time either studying or partying before the school year ends. Most students party during spring break, and go to beaches to spend some time in the sun so they can enjoy themselves outside after months of winter weather. An excellent Spring Break spot is San Diego as there are countless sandy beaches which provide activities like surfing, jet skiing, hang gliding, and sailing. Excellent places to go to during the day include Mission or Pacific Beach since you can spend time on the sand, play volleyball, take in the boardwalk or even go surfing at the Wave House a man made wave machine. Nightlife is best at Gaslamp District Town which is full of clubs and restaurants for young adults to hang out in, as well as shopping arcades at the Horton Plaza.

There are many beaches in San Diego scores of them, in fact - so you cannot possibly visit them all while visiting San Diego unless all you do is go to beaches. There are miles of beaches and that means that swimming, surfing, sailing, jet skiing and all other water sports are extremely popular and available. One excellent point is Imperial Beach, as are Coronado, Ocean beach, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, La Jolla or even the nudist beach Blacks Beach. One very popular sport is surfing, and there are a lot of surf schools where you can be taught how to surf if youre new to the sport, but understand that the surfing conditions differ by beach. If you want to go boating there is always Point Loma, Downtown, Coronadlo, Chula Vista, or one of many other places where you can find boat launch ramps.

San Diego Vacations: Best Time to Visit

San Diego is at its peak from July to October, but even then there are many things to consider. For instance, if you are the sort of person who runs away from crowds, then you should probably visit in October, where it is still warm enough to get a tan at the beach but, not jam packed. In any case, you must analyze the weather report before making arrangements as sometimes there tend to be heavy rainfalls in October. One should avoid visiting from mid May to Early July because usually grey clouds tend to cast a shadow over the beaches and there is hardly sunshine for an hour each day. This is also locally known as the the June Gloom. Those of you who live in really cold countries should aim to visit in July or August as it can really start to boil then. By far the ideal time to visit is September, when it is still dry but, a little less hot.
