This is an attribute that we no longer use in our every day life as people can now get through the day without having to exert themselves in any way. But this is not the way it has always been. Our ancestors had to be strong and fit just to survive and right up till around 100 years ago most people were physically active each and every day just to get through the basic tasks and activities of daily life. Never before in history has the human body not needed its strength and fitness for its survival.So what you say - how can this affect me? Well it is affecting us to the point that around 50 percent of the population has a premature and preventable disease. Many of these people have multiple conditions; most of them can never be cured. Awful devastating diseases like heart disease, cancer, diabetes and dozens of others are robbing people of their quality of life and sometimes life itself. But it does not have to be like this. It is so easy to give the body the physical movement it needs so its muscular system can stimulate 'growth and repair' hormones that tell the cells and tissues to be renewed and replaced. This means the immune system stays strong so it can ward off disease and find and destroy stray cancer cells every single day. If the muscles grow weak so does every other system, organ, cell and tissue in the body.Strength training exercise is perfect as it does exactly what is needed to get those special hormones released that will keep you not only healthy but young as well. Strong means youthful, weak means old, tired - decay and degeneration.So get yourself started on a proper strength training program at your local gym or fitness center. Do not think you can get away with any type of endurance activity as it will not work. It has to strengthen your muscular system properly to be effective. There is not another single thing you could do that will keep you healthy and well and the benefits extend far beyond that. Not only will you have a greater quantity of life you will have more quality so you can do all the things that are available to make your life as enjoyable as you imagine it can be.
