Lots of people would recommend Prague for a city break, and if you haven't yet visited the historic city why not book a trip and discover all that Prague has to offer? Lots of people choose to visit the city for its' architecture; Prague was lucky to sustain much less aerial damage during the Second World War than other major cities, and as a result it has a world renowned collection of fine buildings ranging through a wide variety of architectural styles.

When you are planning a visit to the city, it may be beneficial to look for a central hotel. Prague has a great range of places to stay, whether you are planning a visit with friends, a romantic weekend, or if you are travelling solo, the city has lots for you to choose from. When looking for a central hotel, Prague has lots of historical building that have been converted and refurbished into hotels and inns, so if you are interested in the city's past it can be possible to stay in a building which is part of Prague's rich history!

When you are searching for a central hotel, Prague has a few different areas which can offer a variety of tourist attractions, so it is a good idea to do a little research and decide which attractions you would like to be closest to. The city can be divided into four main areas, one of which is primarily residential. One area is known the eastern bank, and houses the city's Old Town and New Town, a variety of picturesque squares, and Prague's Jewish Quarter. Another area is known as the western bank; this includes Prague Castle, the world's largest medieval castle which houses a fascinating assortment of halls, chapels and gardens, not to mention the Bohemian Crown Jewels which have been kept in the castle for centuries. The last area of the city surrounds the Charles Bridge, which connects the eastern and western regions and was the scene of a bloody battle during the Thirty Years War.

Depending on the types of attractions you would like to see, you may wish to search in a specific area for a central hotel. Prague architecture can be viewed all around the city, and particularly in the eastern region, whilst those who love to explore castles and learn all about the Bohemian folklore which accompanies the Crown Jewels may prefer to stay in the western area. The Vlata River runs through the city, and there is a Metro system, so wherever you are staying it is easy to travel to other areas either via train, car or boat. When you are looking for a central hotel, Prague tour operators may run sightseeing trips either from the hotel itself or from a nearby shop. There are walking tours available, and tours either by car, bus or boat. When you are searching for a hotel, it is worth checking if they offer tours and if there are any tour operators within close reach to help you see as much of Prague as possible.
