Geo software is used to deliver different advertisements of nearby products or services to the user based on his or her location in the world. Geo software works by determining a users location through either their country, state, zip code, region, ISP or IP address.
This allows the various advertisements to be changed based on the user's geological location and will more often than not advertise products or services that are in the users area from then on.
This allows the advertiser to make the user aware of the product or service that exists in their local area. This means that the if the user is looking for something specific it will be advertised on the page they visited and not only will the product be advertised but the convenience of it being close by and more often than not the exact location of the particular product or service being advertised.
Some have called this particular method of advertisement intrusive, but it has not been ruled illegal, nor is it generally frowned upon the business community.
