subject: Key Highlights Of The Hispanic Scholarship Fund [print this page]

A higher level of education is a great benefit to anyone who is able to partake of it, and thanks to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, it has become much easier for young Latino students to achieve their college dreams. Their efforts have drastically increased the overall level of education within the Hispanic community and raised the high school and college graduation rate as well, thus making it possible for students to attain the jobs that they desire.

Many Hispanic Americans in the past found that a college education was a very difficult thing to obtain. The expense of such an endeavor can be quite daunting in and of itself, but aside from that, there is also the elaborate maze of forms, applications processes and other administrative snares that must be navigated. It is not uncommon for headaches such as these to deter a person from reaching the end goal of getting started with their curriculum.

For this reason, the administrators of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund created several outreach programs to aid parents and students as they make their way through all the paper work, forms and interviews, they will even offer assistance in applying for other available financial aid. In order to ensure that the students receive the benefit of a higher education, they offer all the support that they can to make the process easier.

The support of this scholarship fund allows students to focus on their studies more than on their need to work. Though it is often necessary to work while attending college, a recent study has shown that the recipients of this scholarship have been able to work around ten hours less per week to support themselves while studying. This meant they were free to dedicate more of their time and attention to their scholarly pursuits. This has been a major contributing factor in the 80% graduation rate within five years of receiving this assistance. This is 30% higher than the average statistics of all other students in America.

In truth it is not just the Latino students wishing to continue their education who benefit from this program, but the rest of the country profits as well. As one of the fastest growing demographics in the United States, the Hispanic population will account for a huge portion of our future workforce, the better the education they receive the more they will earn and the greater their buying power will become within the American market.
