If you've been blogging for any length of time, you remember when WordPress themes used to be free. All free! It didn't matter how many features or buttons or widgets they had - they were free.
When magazine themes came out, they were the rage. People all of a sudden starting paying big money for them. To have a site that was set up like CNN, you had to pay for it. On the flipside, the premium WordPress themes were usually way easier to set up and administer.
So is Socrates WordPress theme worth it?
When I first heard of the Socrates WordPress Theme, I was a bit perplexed. The video has lots of crazy promises about how you can use the theme to make big money from affiliate marketing...
Now, don't get me wrong. I like making money online. That's the reason I started blogging! The best days ever are the days that I make a sale of an ebook or when advertisers contact me to buy some ad space. But affiliate marketing? I've never thought about it.
It's for that reason that I bought the Socrates WordPress Theme. Let me tell you, I was a hesitant as you are. I didn't know if I was throwing my money away or what. I just thought that maybe, just maybe, I'd be able to squeeze a few extra bucks out of my site a day.
Now, the Socrates WordPress theme isn't going to make you rich. But it will give you a pretty solid foundation for building a site that ranks in the search engines quickly and looks good. And when you have those two things, advertisers and affiliate commissions just soft of happen!
To me, that's what having a blog and making money online is all about. It's about friendships and family and being able to enjoy both of them more. If I can spend a little more time with them everyday, that's all I can ask for!
The bad things about the Socrates WordPress theme? The customization options. There are so many to choose from! It takes a bit longer to get the theme set up and looking beautiful, but at least you have those options! The free, plain looking themes don't give you and options!
