Many pet foods have a pleasing appearance and smell aimed directly at pet owners. If pets had their way the bags and cans would contain dead animals and rotten contents.

Pet stores are plentiful on the internet and in every larger town and they offer thousands of products targeted to fit virtually every pet we own. If you own a horse you may wish to buy a bridle or saddle. A rabbit will require a hutch and hay and straw. Tropical fish will need an aquarium, heater, filter, gravel, and cleaning tools. We need to make sure we protect our pets with safety from parasites and pests that would make them unwell. As well as making them sick, some of these nasty creatures, such as ticks, can make us humans ill too.
