Indian students are finding less chances to be associated with US universities like the Harvards, Michigans,Stanford which are no longer a key to highly paid jobs. And are increasingly changing their option to UK-based universities such as London Business School, Oxford, Cambridge etc.

Even though US still has the largest number of Indians enrolled, student visas issued for the UK-based colleges are getting much more in demand by years The enrolment figures for the UK have had an increase from 15000 student visas for the academic year 2004-05 to 27000 for the new student-entrants in 2009.

The recession hit banking sector is also very cautious in lending education loans in USA. The US fresher data is also the reason which has affected due to the strict rules laid down by the US banks involved in lending money to the students to fund their educational . In some cases, banks have also stopped lending to international students .

The loss of number of applications for australian colleges has dipped due to violence against international students .Therefore it has also benefited study overseas UK.

In one another obvious situation Australias loss of opportunity in attracting Indian students has also turned up a boon for the UK-based colleges. Change in visa laws coupled with incidents of racially-motivated unsafe attacks has turned out to be the major concern for the Indian students aspiring to go to Australia. The last academic year saw an overall decline of more than 60% in Indian students going to Australia.
