You want to learn how to teach and train your dog? Then read on this article.

Dog training is of utmost importance to get to that objective. Of course you have to feed your dog properly and groom him from time to time, but obedience training is probably the most difficult task you'll encounter when raising your puppy. Many people don't care about training, and so their life becomes a lot more complicated due to the dog's presence. It's easy once we know how to do it.

You will learn in the following paragraphs some of the basic techniques you should use to socialize your dog and how to do some overall training using only positive training.

It's important to use common sense when correcting your dog. Don't do it in a negative way. Harsh corrections will only cause your dog to become nervous. And a nervous dog is a dog that bites.

A dog is an excelent "asset" to your home. You will have a best friend forever that will make you happy everyday, if you do train him to behave properly.

Add external variables to your dog's training, like other animals or people. This will help him to be a very pleasant dog to be with, even when other dogs are around.

Become your dog's chief Grant him food, love, attention but never treat him like a person and especially don't you ever obey him. Be the dog's boss always. Don't let your dog do what he wants when he wants. You can easily mantain dominance if you give him what he wants but when you want.

Corrections are sometimes necessary, punishment is bad and positive methods are great. Once again, you must be the Alpha Dog in the pack (Your family).

Never leave a dog unnatended while playing with children. Your dog must interact with people of all ages, but always under your supervision.

Your dog's way of thinking can be used to your benefit.

Most of the time, your dog will be interacting with you so it's your responsability to train him properly. After all, you are the best person to train him because it's in your interest, you love your dog, and want a good life for him. You can use a dog trainer also, but in the end, he will just give the dog some training that you must be carry on and be consistent with.

Everytime you interact with your dog you're training him. Here's some simple thing you should do:

Coherent an uniform training will get you the results you want

Avoid corrections by using redirection

Improve your training by preventing bad behaviors

The learning process is slow so you must be patient

Think before you act, spontaneous actions usually don't work well

Treat your dog like a dog, not a person. He has special needs that humans don't have.
