It is estimated that 82-88% of all network marketers are women according to the (Direct Selling Association). This has a huge influence network marketing, although it is many times over shadowed by a few guys in the spotlight. It is true that women clearly can shine in network marketing and do control the lion's share of a 30.5 billion dollar industry. Women tend to succeed because of the following I believe.

Focus 1: New products and Services - because women are behind the decision making when it comes to purchases and they are a true reflection of a niche-based society. Women like lots of choices in the products and services they purchase. They want items and services that fit a fast paced life style. Because of the response of women, network marketing has responded with new products, services, and opportunities.

Focus 2: Customers needs-not recruiting. Network marketing companies rely on two things to survive sales and recruiting. Most mlm programs focus on recruiting but women tend to focus on the customer. Provide a solution to a customer and you have a sale, but more important you built a relationship with a potential associate. Women are turning old beliefs around and the industry is beginning to see their reason for success.

Focus 3: Networking - Women love to socialize and because of this socializing women tend to build relationships not just sell. That is why in this new renaissance of network marketing the Party Plan is making a comeback. It is because of low start up cost, and it is easily learned and duplicated. It especially appeals to younger moms (single moms), who need part time income but want flexibility, thus opting out of a regular restrictive job. Network Marketing also allows women the ability to buy quality products in a fun, relaxed setting, whether it is a party plan or networking from their living room.

Focus 4: Part time business income - Many women want just part time, they do not want to invest huge amounts of time into building a million dollar business and the mlm new business models favor the part time woman because of the influence they represent in the business. Some of the smarter companies, not only have they changed pay systems, but are even offering health care benefits so as to retain heavy hitters in the industry.

Focus 5: Facts - women just want facts. They like to do research before buying, whether it is a product or a service. Due to the woman's need for facts, is why the mlm industry has infused tons of information both online and off line about network marketing. With magazines, videos, blogs, podcasts, teleconferences, webinars, search engines, television media etc. Having all this information available to not just women, but men as well has broadened the appeal of network marketing.

Focus 6: Net work marketing in the main stream-network marketing because of women has finally been brought into the main stream of media. In recent years the media has begun to focus on stay at home moms in the network marketing field. PBS media have featured network marketing and women. Morning talk shows such CBS Early Show featured the marriage between women and network marketing. These shows are demonstrating the positions of income, opportunity, flexibility and last but not least about low start up costs and investments.

I think women in network marketing have been a positive image and substance now and for the future.
