subject: Loaded Metal - Online game guide [print this page]

Loaded Metal is a rapid paced defensive shooter styled game where you are in control of a high tech military automobile. You might have difficulty controlling the vehicle if you are a novice to online games as vehicle control in games is much more difficult then character control. The story of this game is that the military was aware of an upcoming attack on our country, so you and some of your best men were sent off to stop the attack, but it failed. You were able to escape to base, where you must upgrade your car with weapons in order to stop the enemy assault. In so that you can win you must be able to hold off the enemy for 20 days without dying. The controls are as followed: Arrows keys to move, or WASD keys. Space or click to shoot.

Upgrades!

Of course the upgrades! The coolest part of any game, and this one isn't short of a few neat upgrades. There are 13 upgrades in total. Some are one time buys and others can be upgraded multiple times. Here is a complete list of upgrades:

Durable Bumper: Costs 100, isn't upgradable.

Chrome Bumper: Costs 200, isn't upgradable.

**Spiked Bumper: Costs 350, isn't upgradable.

Turn Radius: Costs 75, is upgradable.

Rocket Boost: Costs 250, isn't upgradable.

**Turret: Costs 125, is upgradable.

**Mines: Costs 200, is upgradable.

**Armor Plating: Costs 125, is upgradable.

Health: Costs 75, isn't upgradable, but can be bought many times

**Gun Man: Costs 150, is upgradable.

**Power Core: Costs 250, isn't upgradable.

Gold Bullet: Costs 175, isn't upgradable.

**Split Shot: Costs 200, isn't upgradable.

The ones that I placed the ** next to are the upgrades I feel that are most important. The spiked bumper is good for killing all foot soldiers with one hit, and for inflicting decent damage on vehicles when they hit you. The gunman and the turret are crucial to destroying vehicles so you don't have to rely on just ramming them because you take damage that way. Mines are efficient tank and car killers, so you need some of those. The power core makes your bullets ALOT stronger, so invest some money in that. Split shot is great also, if you can get all 3 bullets to hit one enemy then you are inflicting tremendous damage, and it's good crowd control in case you have a bunch of enemies in front of you, then you can damage them all. Armor plating helps you not to die as quick, but mainly it makes you look awesome, so upgrade that. The rest are important too, I just found the ones I liked best and put the ** next to them. You may want rocket boost so you can go a lot faster and cause more ramming damage, or have a better turn radius so you can be more proficient when turning around and shooting those bothersome enemy jeeps.

Strategies/Game Help

If you look in the upgrades section I talked a good bit about using the upgrades, so that can be regarded as part of the strategies section. But here is my quick guide for the full game. The game starts off slow-moving with very few enemies, so I recommend buying the gun man and upgrade some of it's damage, then just ride around the game field and pick off enemies as they show up. Begin making an investment in a turret, some kind of better bumper, and split shot by the time enemy jeeps begin to show up, ramming them just isn't as proficient. You should buy some mines so it's easier to kill the jeeps, the mines take away a good portion of their health so they can be destroyed much quicker. If you get low on health of course buy some health but make sure to buy some armor plating too so it's tougher to die. At this point you should be doing okay, the combination of your gun man, your turret, and mines should be destroying the enemy jeeps decently. Once the tanks start to show up you will be in trouble though. MAKE SURE NOT TO GET STUCK BENEATH THE TANK OR IT WILL RUN YOU OVER AND KILL YOU. Get a power core so you can waste away those beastly tanks. Just be sure to keep upgrading your weaponry and don't die of course and you should be able to win. Good Luck and remember this is just my assessment on how to win, there are many other methods and upgrade combinations. Test around in the free play mode to see what upgrades suit you best.
