subject: How to Increase Buyers on Facebook [print this page] Everyone is looking to create buyers on Facebook. Businesses want to convert their Facebook groups, friends, and fan pages into sales for their companies. Social media is very transparent, so do not attempt to trick our fans or trick people into becoming fans of your pages. People will see through your actions - seeing our hidden agenda - and will stray away from your business. They will not want to have anything to do with your company and the products that you sell.
Below are five tips on how to effectively convert fans and friends into customers to generate sales and profit for your business.
1. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT be that guy. Everyone knows that obnoxious guy that walks into a room and immediately tries to sell his product. Well, don't be him. You do not want to spam your potential clients because they will get annoyed and turn away from your business and you will lose potential sales. Look at social media as similar to a party. You want to provide value to your potential customers. Upon providing value to them, they will come to trust your business and will want to purchase products from you.
2. Position yourself and your business, be known as an expert. It is difficult to gain people's trust, especially on the internet. In order to gain trust from your potential clients, you must position yourself and your business properly. By becoming the expert, it demonstrates to customers that you know your field, you know your product backwards and forwards and therefore are a credible source. It helps your customers build trust and faith in your company and want to purchase your products. With this budding trust customers will recommend your business' products to their friends; therefore, generating more sales and thus more profit for your business.
3. Know your audience so that you can provide them with pertinent information. Tagging onto the previous statement, do not waste your time on the wrong people. In general 10% of people to whom you try to sell your product will immediately love you and your business and want to purchase what you are selling. 10% of people will hate you and your business. And 80% of people will be on the fence. Focus your marketing on the 80% of people to spark their interest by providing valuable content to them. Do not waste your time on the 10% that want to have nothing to do with what you are selling, it will only leave you exhausted, cost you valuable time and resources.
4. Wrap your sales in content, especially in regards to social media. For example is you are a health food company, provide your customers with a recipe and then suggest your company as a place to purchase the ingredients that they do not have. By providing strong, valuable content you pursue a sale without being spam-y and obnoxious.
5. Five to One rule. For every five pieces of content that you distribute, include a sale in only one of them. If you go over the top with trying to sell people will get burnt out on your sales and will be turned off. You do not want your customers to get turned off from your business because you will not generate sales that way.
Follow the five above suggestions in order to drive more leads, create more sales, and more profit for you business.
