subject: How To Cope With Severe Hemorrhoids On A Daily Basis [print this page]

Living with hemorrhoids isn't easyLiving with hemorrhoids isn't easy. In fact, it can very well seem to be a hellish experience. Having to constantly face that sort of pain and discomfort, as well as being unable to function normally as a result and having to suffer from blows to your self-esteem... it is something that can really even break the strongest of people.

While you're undoubtedly doing everything in your power to rid yourself of hemorrhoids, in the meantime what you need to do is learn how to cope with it.

Locking yourself in your house simply isn't an option. If you can't lead at least some semblance of a normal life, then you're really in dire straits and you'll find that things just get from bad to worse. In fact, this is the main reason why many people who have severe hemorrhoids actually end up suffering from various forms of depression sooner or later.

In order to at least be able to lead a semi-normal life though, you're going to have to tackle the problem head on. Sure, finding an eventual cure should still be one of your focus points, but apart from that you need to do whatever you can to at least alleviate the problem enough in the short term so that you can go out and actually live life!

Largely, this means that you should initially start off by looking at symptom based treatments. Focus particularly on the ones that help reduce inflammation, swelling, and pain. After all, these are probably the three main barriers that stand between you and a normal lifestyle. If you're able to at least limit these symptoms, you'll find that you are on the right track.

Different people opt for different methods in order to accomplish this, and it really doesn't matter what you use so long as it gets the job done. Try to start off by applying ice to the affected area once in the morning, and at other times during the day as applicable. Not only will the ice help to temporarily numb the pain, but it should also sooth the area, and help to reduce inflammation.

If you like, you could even use an ice pack, or some other alternative such as Aloe Vera cream.

Honestly, anything and everything that is able to provide a soothing effect and give you some respite will be exactly what you need. Once you've found something that suits your requirements, try to figure out how often you're going to be using it. Ideally, you should come up with a schedule and get yourself into the habit.

By limiting the pain and inflammation, you should at least be able to cope with even severe hemorrhoids on a daily basis.
