subject: Law of Attraction: Develop Irresistible Attraction [print this page]

The law of attraction began to gain popularity in the west in the 19th century, as people began to appreciate the power of positive thinking and apply it to their life. This new concept was first introduced to the general public by William Walker Atkinson, the editor of New Thought magazine, who published a book called "Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World" in 1906.

The theory behind the law of attraction is the belief that energy attracts like energy in the vast expanse of space and time that comprises our universe. Each person`s being is constantly radiating energy out into space; the type of energy being radiated is determined by the emotional state of the individual in question and may differ from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

This emotional energy is what is commonly known as a "vibration". Chances are that you are familiar with the term. Have you noticed that, sometimes, what you need just falls into place or comes to you from an out-of-the-blue phone call? Or you`ve bumped into someone on the street you`ve been thinking about? Perhaps you`ve met the perfect client or life partner just by fate or being at the right place at the right time? All of these experiences are evidence of the Law of Attraction in your life.

Have you heard about people who find themselves in bad relationships over and over again and who are alwayscomplaining that they keep attracting the same kind of relationship? The Law of Attraction is at work for them, too.

Whether you are remembering something from the past, observing something in your present, or imagining something about your future, the thought that you are focused upon in your powerful now has activated a vibration within you and the Low of Attraction is responding to it now.
