It is difficult to know how to start your Google AdWords pay per click campaigns the right way so you don't waste your time and money. Knowing that you are on the right track and doing things in the right way frees up so much of your time and means that your efforts don't go to waste. One of the best pieces of advice i was given was to concentrate fully on one area rather than spreading your efforts wide. So go deep rather than wide to be successful. So concentrate on one thing at a time and do more of it rather than many things that you won't be able to do much on. There is a much higher chance that you will succeed with this approach. If you bid on too many keyword (as most people advise you too) it will very tough to get a high quality score on each of them, or have a big enough budget to get enough exposure in Google and be able to track and make the necessary changes to improve your campaigns. So what is the solution? Start campaigns with less keywords. A good strategy is to bid on 5-10 keywords rather than 100s or even 1000s.Why? It is a LOT more manageable, easier to get enough exposure for your keywords on a smaller budget and easier to make your keywords more relevant to your landing page and advert which means a higher quality score. It is also much easier to track and make changes to campaign to improve it this way.Don't get me wrong, i know there are software programs that can get you highly targeted adverts for each of your keywords in minutes. But imagine trying to get a relevant landing page for 100 keywords? This is near impossible and a total waste of your time. You could be doing more important things with your time. There are also programs that say they can generate 100s of relevant landing pages with the click of your mouse. I tend to stay away from these programs as they are not good practice and these practices don't stay around for long.If you bid on just 1-5 keywords, imagine how much easier it is to make 1-5 relevant adverts and landing pages which get you a higher quality score. Imagine how much easier it is to test and track your campaigns to make improvements. Imagine how much more exposure and clicks your ads will get on your budget. Simplicity really is the key.You can get a lot more out of these 1-5 keywords than you could ever get out of 100 or 1000. And even if you can just bid on 1 keyword on your budget, no problem.Summing up This strategy has helped me a lot and it takes a LOT of pressure of you. This approach means you get more clicks on your ads and a higher quality score which is what Google loves. And they reward you for it with lower advertising costs which means more profit.
