subject: Viva Nike Air Jordans [print this page] It's amazing to think that in 2009 the Sonics don't have a team, when just over ten years ago they were in the Finals, on the losing end mind you, but still. In celebration of that, the Nike Air Jordans one Low Phat Supersonics Pack was released on 03/14/2009, along with the Air Jordan Six Rings "Sonics." While the Sonics colorways theoretically lend themselves to some really tight shoes, Nike Air Jordan Brand really dropped the ball on this one based on these pictures. There is approximately no green and yellow on these at all, minus a little on the accents and a gum bottom on the white that I guess we can call yellow. Green is almost entirely absent in Nike Air Jordans shoes though. I'm inclined to think that the lighting is poor and maybe the white has a dark green midsole but I don't know, maybe a pipe dream.
As we've covered before, Jordan Brand will be releasing a black and a white colorway of the Air Jordan 1 Low Phat in the team colors for each squad Michael Jordan beat on the way to his six championships. We've already covered the Suns, Blazers, and Lakers, so obviously the Jazz were coming sooner or later. Sooner. Above is the first of the pack, the black "away" Air Jordan 1 Low Phat Jazz. With black upper and sweet blue accents that could be confused for the Thunders, this is the coolest the Jazz will ever be. This shoe will drop March 28 at select accounts.
By the by, the edition that is using the the Jazz colors, these sneakers will be available in both road and home colorways. The road version pictured above features a Black suede upper with Vivid Blue, new balance 850 mens, Court Purple and White accents. The home edition is similar but uses white pebbled leather as its base color. Though I'm partial to black shoes, new balance 580 mens, both pairs are solid choices. These Air Jordan 1 Low Phat sneakers will release along with the Utah Jazz-inspired Six Rings on March 28th.The combination of the purple midsole with blue outsole finishes off these shoes in style. These sneakers will be priced at $95.
