subject: The Psychic Medium Hall Of Fame: 3 Notable Psychic Mediums Of All Time [print this page]

Since the time of our earliest ancestors, a psychic medium has always been known for their unique ability to communicate with the spirit world. A psychic medium has been sought for powerful seances and general guidance.

Parapsychology studies show that there is quite a lengthy list of psychic mediums who have made milestones through the years. However, only 3 names have made a gigantic impact on history. These 3 psychic mediums are Daniel Douglas Homes, Mina Crandon, and Leonora Piper.

The 3 Great Psychic Mediums Of All Time

DANIEL DOUGLAS HOMES: "THE PSYCHIC MEDIUM WHO COULD FLY"

Daniel Douglas Homes, a Scottish Spiritualist is the most famous psychic medium of all time. He is a well-known physical medium with the reported ability to levitate to a variety of heights, and the talent to speak with the spirits of those who have passed on.

Even as an infant, Homes showed very powerful psychic abilities. His cradle would rock by itself, as if invisible hands were moving it! On top of that, there are also a number of accounts during his childhood wherein he foretold numerous events which later on materialized.

Homes spent most of his life on the road and sharing with the world his gifts as a psychic medium by conducting seances out in the open and in public areas. But the peak of his career as a psychic medium was during one particular seance conducted in Connecticut in August 1852 where he went against the laws of gravity and levitated into the air!

MINA "MARGERY" CRANDON: "THE PSYCHIC MEDIUM WHO WAS HOUDINI'S GREATEST NEMESIS"

Mina Crandon, popularly known as "Margery Crandon", was a psychic medium who got entangled with one of the most bitter issues in American psychic research. This Boston psychic medium was said to be the biggest rival of famous magician Harry Houdini.

This Boston-based psychic medium actually did not show any signs of any psychic ability in the early years of her life. But then, one visit to a psychic revealed that she possessed supernatural abilities. It was predicted that a laughing young man was attempting to contact her from the spirit world. Eventually, the young man turned out to be Mina's brother, Walter, who had died in 1911 in a railway accident. Later on, Walter became Crandon's spirit guide and, along with his sister, they took on worldwide fame.

LEONORA PIPER: "THE ONE WHITE CROW"

One very impressive trance medium is Leonora Evelina Simonds Piper. Leonora was married to one of America's greatest psychologist - philosophers, Professor William James of Harvard. Her husband referred to her as the "One White Crow", and he believed that unlike others, she was an authentic and honest Spiritualist psychic medium

The famous instance that started of Leonora Piper's career as a psychic medium was in 1884 after her father-in-law took her for a medical consultation with J.R. Cook, a blind clairvoyant who was making a reputation for psychic cures. Leonora Piper lost consciousness at Cook's touch and entered a trance of her own. Later on, she attended a home circle sitting with him and again entered another trance. This time, she produced a message for one of the other persons in the session -- who considered it to be the most accurate message he had ever received during his 30 year interest in Spiritualism.

These persons are just 3 of the many well-known psychic mediums who have made it big in history. Exactly like other things in this world, history is created every day; and who knows -- maybe at this very minute there is another powerful psychic medium out there making history as we speak!
