subject: Crossing The Finish Line [print this page] It's that time of yearIt's that time of year. Seasons change, yes indeed! Are you ready to fall forward? I sure hope so because going backwards is not an option as far as I'm concerned. In less than 120 days we will be celebrating yet another year 2011. I'm excited about 2011 but let's continue to give it our all in 2010.There's still time!
Boldness in vision is the first, second and third most important thing. He who dares nothing should expect nothing.
Your destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. When you determine what you want, you have made the most important decision in your life. You have to know what you want in order to attain it.
You have to STOP trying to be perfect. The pursuit of perfection is frustrating, unproductive and terrible waste of time.
Don't stay where you are. Don't be afraid to fail. When successful people stop growing and learning it is because they become less and less willing to risk failure. Playing it safe is probably the most unsafe thing in the world. You cannot stand still. You must go forward and be open to failure. Failure is only a delay, not defeat. Failure is often the first necessary step toward success. If we don't take the risk of failing, we won't get the chance to succeed.
The dreams that come true do so because people stick to their ambitions. They refused to be discouraged. They never let disappointment get the upper hand. Challenges only spurred them on to greater efforts. Start thinking more creatively because a constant flow of new, exciting and powerful ideas will come for you to act on immediately.
Be persevering because the last key on the ring may be the one that opens the door. Many people who fail did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote: "When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you until it seems as through you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the time and place that the tide will turn."
All of us encounter obstacles, problems and challenges across our paths. How we respond to them and view them is one of the most important decisions that we make. The truth is, if you find a path with no obstacles, it is probably a path that doesn't lead to anywhere important.
The world makes room for the woman or man of purpose. Be used for a mighty purpose. When your words and actions demonstrate that you know where you're going. You are built to conquer circumstances, solve problems and attain goals. You'll find no satisfaction or happiness in life without obstacles to conquer, goals to achieve and a purpose to accomplish.
Be on a mission. When you discover your mission, you will feel its demand. It will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work on it. Once your purpose is clear, decisions will jump at you.Successful lives are motivated by dynamic purpose. Go forward with purpose and cross the finish line!
