Utah is a wonderful place for off-roadingUtah is a wonderful place for off-roading. There are a lot of outstanding places for four-wheeling or ATVing. Here are our favorite places.

Diamond Mountain Plateau - This trail starts around the Dinosaur National Monument in Utah and extends to the Green River. You may have heard about this trail because it was the place where Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch liked to wander around. This is a perfect place to bring you motorcycle, ATV or jeep.

National Forests - The National Forests of Utah have trails that are appropriate for off-roading vehicles. They offer beautiful scenery and a fun adventure. Double check with each forest to be sure which trail you can use.

Bountiful Peak - This is a beautiful trail that is open during the summer and fall. It is a 21-mile loop that goes from Farmington to Bountiful. This trail has a lot of alpine scenery, and a wonderful view of the Great Salt Lake.

Little Sahara Recreation Area - Two-thirds of this area is set aside just for off-highway vehicles. That means that it is specifically for four-wheelers, dune buggies, dirt bikes, and ATVs alike. You will love the sand dunes and sagebrush flats that this area has to offer. Little Sahara is just 30 miles outside of Nephi.

The Great Basin - This trail has amazing terrain. You can see the mountains and get up on there, or use the open stretches as well for some off-roading solitude. You might be able to catch a glimpse of the very transcontinental railroad. It still runs in the north-west area, so remember to use caution if you see it.

The Oquirrh Loop Tour - This is a great trail that begins in SLC and extends through a few ghost towns and historic sites. A lot of people like the history involved here. A cool fact is that many of the off-roading trails on this tour was originally forked by the pony express.

When you ATV you should have good ATV shocks. It is important to have good ATV shocks so you can have a smoother ride. Before you go for your fun adventure, be sure that your ATV shocks are serviced.
