subject: It's A Slippery Subject Indeed [print this page] Despite having a black cloud of controversy hanging over the politics and financial state of Greece currently, there certainly isn't a black cloud in the sky to be seen for miles. I feel sorrow for those who are suffering financially in the lower rungs of Greece's society, but I can only feel a certain degree of sorrow because if they become so poor that being homeless is an inevitably then at least the streets aren't cold. Of course being homeless sure is no bed of roses, but I could think of worse places to be. Friends of mine have once booked holidays to beach resorts in Greece without accommodation, instead choosing to sleep on the beach or a sun lounger because the weather is that great!
Greece has a plethora of places to consider when summer is upon us, for many it is the number one summer destination in Europe. This comes as little surprise as the ancient nation is packed to the brim with fantastic resort after fantastic resort and beautiful island after beautiful island. Beauty is only one aspect which can attract tourists though, if everybody in Greece was a vampire I'm sure people would think twice about going just to get a great summer tan. Fortunately I don't think that Greece suffers from too many vampires so it's safe enough to visit.
Sure the Mediterranean Sea has shore on more summer resorts than it does have fish in inhabiting it, but this doesn't mean that you choice has to be mind boggling. The best way to cut down the huge number of option is to choose Greece. See that was easy. Now all you have to do is think of what type of holiday you are looking for, lively, relaxing or scenic, or even all three. Now your list should be very small which means there's only one thing left to do and that is to cut them up, put them in a hat and pick one at random. Congratulations! You're going to Greece.
Greece has always been on the lips of holidaymakers because it offers top summer destinations that will never fail to impress tourists. Despite all the unrest within the nation and the financial crisis, Greece can always count on tourism to draw in a lot of money because people will always want to visit. The best part of all is that the summer sun is only one aspect of what makes Greece great, its history is fascinating, intriguing and present in every city, town and village.
