If you want to get started trading currencies, you need a good forex trading training in order to succeed. Too many people just look at the huge trading volume of the currency exchange and think that it's easy to make money. And it can be easy - but only if you know what you are doing.

If you approach currency trading like a visit to a casino in Vegas, then you're chances of making money are about as good as when you stand at the roulette table and bet on "black".

A good forex trading training should give you an clear understanding of the basic market mechanisms, the specific terminology and how to interpret economic indicators and how to use a trading system. But most important of all, it should teach you one thing: how to make more money than you lose.

So rather than overwhelming you with a huge amount of data, information and explanations, a good forex education should take you by the hand and turn you into a successful trader. There are a lot of very smart and educated people who lose a lot of money trading currencies, because their head is filled with knowledge and information, but they do not have a system that helps them to make the best use of all their knowledge.

Also, one of the best things you can do to get started is to open a practice account and play with what I like to call "monopoly money". Many online forex brokers offer you a free trading account and give you a couple of thousand dollars "play money" upfront. It's not real money - it's just a virtual currency, but it's good go get your feet wet.

I highly advice against getting started playing forex if you don't have at least three months of experience trading currencies with a free practice account. Don't put real money on the line too early, even if you are eager to get started. A good trader must keep his emotions under control.
