subject: Bite Into And Savour The Wonders Of taste Of Melbourne [print this page]

The Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton will once again play host to the fabulous 'taste of Melbourne' gourmet event that takes place between 26th and 29th August 2010.

The event features an exciting array of activities that will tickle your senses. The Taste Wine experience does not require you to be an expert or wine connoisseur as long as you can appreciate the subtle tones and differences that make Australian wine some of the best in the world. If you are a complete beginner then you can also learn how to taste your wine properly.

If your favourite activity is the taste kitchen then be ready to have your eyes and ears open and take a notebook along with you as some of the top end chefs prepare a scrumptious array of dishes for you. Useful tips and entertaining, insightful knowledge can be gained during one of these sessions.

The Chef's table gives you the opportunity to sit down with your favourite chef over a glass of wine and have your questions answered. You can also find out where these great chefs get their produce from at the Taste Producers Market. These fresh ingredients- straight from the producers- are yours to buy.

The Yarra Valley Farmers Market is a new addition to this year's Taste of Melbourne event together with the Sensology - art of cocktail making activity. These two events are sure to capture the visitors' interest.

Chosen from the top end restaurants, the chefs and gourmet dishes featured at this event are world renowned in their field. The event entrance requires an entry fee and sampling of 'signature dishes' also require a further 8-12 'crowns' (as the event currency is called - which is equivalent to an Australian dollar).

Visitors should definitely make use of this once a year opportunity, if they are visiting Melbourne at this time. If such visitor seeks a Melbourne hotel from which to base themselves then The Langham Melbourne with its rich and time honoured elegance is one of the ideal Melbourne hotels on offer.
