Lets be realistic for a moment, Fixing your golf swing will not happen overnight and you will have to put in the work to achieve the results you want.
Some people believe that they can play better by just trying a few tips and suggestions and golfing 5 or 6 times a year. Not true, I used to think that until about a year and half ago when I still couldn't break 100 consistently.
I even quit golfing for about 6 months because I lost interest in the game. I wasn't getting any better but it was my fault because I was not putting in the time and effort to get better. Now eventually I did improve but only after working on my game 4 to 5 times a week along with a training aid. Now take these tips for what they are worth and try them the next time your at the driving range.
1. Relaxation was one key to the resurgence in my golf game. I always way too tense when golfing not to mention I gripping the club too tight also. I started to relax and loosen my grip on the club and the results were almost immediate. Try to relax and think positive, it will make a huge difference.
2. Balance is one very important key in playing golf well. If you think about it in every sport, good balance is important. Golf is no different. Make sure that you have a good solid base shoulder width apart with some bend in the knees and lower back.
3. In order to fix your golf swing you have to understand why you are not getting the results you want. The first objective I had was to examine each part of my swing to find problems. I broke my swing into four parts the setup, the back swing, the down swing and the follow through. Examine each part of the golf swing and pin point problems. Once you find the problems fixing the issues will become easier.
4. The lead and trailing elbows should be something of focus when trying to fix your golf swing. Make sure the lead elbow is straight on the back swing and the trailing elbow should remain tucked in close to your side. A lead elbow that is bent will cause slicing and a trailing elbow that flies away from the body will certainly cause slicing as well.
Take my word for it, if you put in the time, set goals and stick to a plan you will achieve the goals you have set for yourself. Use these tips the next time you hit the driving range in conjunction with the training aid of your choice.
