What Not to Wear
What Not to Wear

Fifteen minutes before her date was due to pick her up, Sandy sat on her black paisley bedspread, clothes strewn around her haphazardly. She was making herself crazy. To her left lay her wrinkled red wrap dress, usually the go-to wow factor on a new date. But she had read a dating advice blog earlier, just looking for tips, which warned against red on first dates because it triggered a sensual response in men. Who knew? All those dates she had smiled and laughed, silky fabric swishing around her legs, she was giving the guys the wrong impression. And those heels she wore?! They probably thought I was out for sex!

Small wonder things never panned out.

To her right was her most conservative black skirt "really, it was two inches of fabric away from being nun-worthy"with a ruffled white blouse. Sandy imagined it placed her somewhere between Susie Secretary and Lizzie Librarian. She hated them both. And now she had ten minutes to get ready.

Thirty minutes later, she sat in John's car with a wooden smile on her face, resisting the urge to scratch the itchy sleeves on her boring black wool dress. How on earth was she going to make him feel comfortable around her if she couldn't feel comfortable in her own clothes? She looked less ready for a date and more so for a funeraland she could see the clods of dirt being heaped on her love life with every mile.

Sandy's problem was that her confidence lay in the clothes she put on to knock out her dates. Her snazzy red dress was only a crutch for a woman who just wasn't quite sure how to put her best foot forward: be it in chinos, heels or a skirt. The Get Up and Date Advantage system was formulated to help daters like Sandy understand how to be themselves in any capacity. If Sandy only knew that she could've worn that red dress or even the Susie Secretary get-up and still have knocked the socks off poor John

Remember: What you wear on the outside won't matter if you're clothed with insecurities underneath.

So,

Go show him your WOW!

Happy dating, ladies!

Make it fun!
