S.Meharban singh has been one of the famous personalities of singapur. During 1970's i used to live in singapur , where i heard a tale from him(S.Meharban singh ji). He told that Once upon a time we went to travel across gurdwaras of pakistan. General ayub khan was the president of pakistan at that time. He called me for a supper at his home. When i went into the drawing room , i was amazed and shocked with what i saw there. On the wall front of me i could see a painting with following panktiyan (scriptures) written on it
Below the painting i could see two more frames hanging from the wall, the first frame consisted of written mool mantra in punjabi and the second one contained the same holy wordings (mool mantra) in urdu. We began our general talks. I was very keen to know about the mool mantra. I stopped the talks in between and asked the general,"General if you allow me i would want to ask about the (pointing towards it) mool mantra. He kept the silence for a minute and then spoke," this is the composition by great SR I GURU NANAK DEV JI , it's because of this composition that i have managed to become the president of the country. This mool mantra is responsible for my success. "
He told me ,
I used to study at a place name aibtabaad. I used to get the beatings from teacher everyday , i was the weakest student of my class. One day i determined that i will not go to the shcool. In the midway to my school there was a Gurduwara sahib, for hiding purposes i went into the gurdwara sahib. The preist of Gurdwara sahib knew me very well. He asked me ,"oye jubeya, isn't it your school time, what are you doing here?" I replied,"i dont want to go to school ,teacher scolds and beats me everyday, i can't bear all this anymore , i will not go to school." He took me under his lap and said me,"jubeya , i assure you , you will never ever get the beating from your teacher , but for that you have to follow my instructions , whenever you would go to school just keep reciting this holy mool mantra." I followed his instructions. i went to the school reciting the mool mantra . It was the first day in my school when i was spared from the beatings and scoldings of the teacher. I followed it everyday , whenever i used to go to school i used to recite this holy composition and after that i was never beaten by any teacher in the school.
Then exams arrived , i went to the same priest and said,"baba ji i want to get good marks in the exam , tell me what should i do?" , the priest replied ,"never leave the composition of nanak (mool mantra) you will reach any position you wish." It's because of this composition of Guru nanak sahib that i have reached the position of president today.
In the year 2000i had a chance to go to pakistan. I was moving across the market in lahore , suddenly this tale of Ayub khan struck my mind. I went into a bookstore and asked for the autobiography of Ayub khan. I was given a book named "FRIENDS ,NOT MASTERS" . I just wanted to confirm this tale, and after moving through few pages of the book i was confirmed about the tale. Pr. Satbir singh has also written about this tale in one of his book.

I went to england for the first time, i had to go there due to my exam. For spending the night i went in the Gurdwara sahib of southhall. The Granthi (priest) of Gurdwara sahib was very kind to me.In the morning i asked the baba ji to pray for me , he gave me a piece of paper with EKONKAR SATGURU PARSAAD written on it. He told me ," you should always keep these words in mind, they are the words by GOD itself and never let these words be away from your heart, whenever in life you are in trouble just recite these words" The words of the priest had a magic in it, these words just entered my mind and made a place there, these words entered my body like a lightning and gave me a kind of shock. I entered the examination hall. After seeing the Question paper i became very tensed and confused, i was in a state of fear and confusion. Then suddenly i remembered the words of Priest, i just took out the chit given by baba ji and read the words "EKONKAR SATGURU PRASAD" and started writing the exam, i kept on answering the questions one by one. The result of this exam was kind of shocking to me. I could only thank to the priest and thank to Guru Nanak. I was eager to know the secret behind those magical words that helped me a lot. I asked the priest," What is the magic behind these words". Baba ji (priest) replied," Never ever leave this Mantra in your life and i guarantee you will never see the face of defeat, you will be successful in every field of your life". Today also whenever i has to start some work i start it with the holy words "EKONKAR SATGURU PARSAAD".
In december i gave a lecture on these tales. After the lecture a lady came to me and asked," Do these miracles still happen." , I said,"why not ,sure, Just you need to have a belief on your god , on Guru Nanak." She told me," I have filled a form for applying VISA to canada but embassy says that I should clear the IELTS exam this january. After hearing this i went to some coaching center and they told me that I need at least a coaching of two years before clearing the Exam, tell me what should i do" I replied," take the coaching but along with it keep reciting the mool mantra and keep praying, you shall succeed."She gave exam on 24th january and result came on 10th of febuararu , She needed 5 bands but the resul that came was of 7 bands She and the coaching center were shocked to see this unbelievable result. The lady came to thank me, she was crying with happiness , and was saying," The gurbani holds such power , i never knew that nor anyone has told us about the power of gurbani"
