Are there vitamins that are effective against acne?

One reason why a large number of Americans suffer from lack of vitamins is their propensity for an imbalanced diet. Americans with adequate daily vitamin and mineral consumption number only as little as 10-20% of the population. Many skin problems of Americans today can be traced back to their deficient vitamin intakes.

One way of combating acne is by regularly taking vitamins which are available in great quantities. Various kinds of vitamins differ in their uses to the body - the antioxidants and antibacterial vitamins have been proven to be good in fighting acne infection. It is hoped that this writing will help educate readers of the benefits of certain kinds of vitamin against acne.

The vitamins that are good against acne are Vitamins A, B, E, C, Chromium and Zinc. These vitamins work against acne in various ways and will minimize the chance of acne, and if used in combinations may also prevent acne altogether. Women are prone to dieting and therefore cannot take their vitamin requirement through eating alone; instead they take it as supplements, in which case they should avoid consuming more than the right quantity. The reason of strictly adhering to instruction is that too much vitamins may poison the body and may cause some kind of illness.

Vitamins A and E are good for the skin being antioxidants. Zinc on the other hand while also an antioxidant is also helpful in regulating oil production in the oil glands. Chromium for its part helps prevent skin infection and inhibiting acne from spreading. The B Complex and C vitamins can be likened to a multi-vitamin. These two vitamins have multiple contributions in keeping the body healthy and are indispensable in your daily diet.

These vitamins are important because they not only help in combating acne but also because the absence of one may cause or induce the appearance of acne altogether. Because of the reasons mentioned earlier, it is imperative to consume the right dosages of the vitamins daily be it in the food eaten or as supplements. There is a saying that "knowledge is power" and it is never truer than in this instance where knowing and appreciating the value of vitamins can help the appearance of acne ever happening.
