subject: Self-development And Re-training In The Period Of Crisis [print this page]

The world crisis of 2007-2009 is considered to be the most powerful one from the years of Great Depression of 1930s. The whole world suffered from the global problems which were in financial sphere. A crisis was provoked by the problems with mortgages in the USA. A crisis was procrastinated, many people were left without jobs and livelihood. The problem of re-training became vital. Many people had to change the specialization in order to remain afloat. To avoid panic in future, in case the same situation occurs, we have created the article which offers some great decisions on human actions. The article is aimed at describing the options students can use when it appears that the degree they study for is not in demand.

If students understand that the degree they study for is not in demand they should:

1.Consider the related professions. It may be useful to transfer to another college or specialization.

2.Use their contacts and check whether it is possible to find a job in the sphere they study for. Employers should better employ an experienced worker rather than a person who has just graduated from a college.

3.Check the alternatives for attending some additional courses where they can get a certificate of attendance. This certificate can be really helpful for students.

4. Use their skills and try to achieve something by means of self-training. It seems to be hard, but students should remember that their future depends only on their desire to achieve success.

5.Continue studying. Postgraduate study is one more variant to have a job as people with Masters and Doctorate degrees have always been respected.

Thus, students should think about their future now. If one finds out that the degree he/she studies for is unclaimed, he/she should consider the alternatives mentioned above.
