subject: What You Will Learn On The Iseb Intermediate Certificate In Software Testing [print this page]

For those who already have a Certificate in ISEB Foundation level, the ISEB Intermediate Certificate may be the obvious next step. This certificate is ideal if you are looking to increase the knowledge of software testing that you have and to add another respectable qualification to your resume.

The ISEB Intermediate Certificate covers a range of issues that are critical in achieving advanced standard software testing practice, whatever specialism. An ISEB Intermediate Certificate shows that an applicant has the capability of analysis at an advanced level and has the knowledge and practical skills necessary for the effective practice of software testing.

Testing for the ISEB Intermediate Certificate reaches K4 (Level 4) standards. Candidates will be expected to complete each of these levels, 'Remember (K1)', 'Understand (K2)', 'Apply (K3)' and 'Analyse (K4)', the first of which will already have been touch upon at foundation level. Level K4 requires that each candidate can examine a software testing process in closer detail. They should have an ability to distinguish clearly between facts and inferences. A 1 hour exam must be sat, and passed, to be awarded with the ISEB Intermediate Certificate qualification. The exam paper is a multiple-choice questionnaire based on real software testing scenarios.

The ISEB Intermediate Certificate covers the following software testing topics; testing fundamentals, reviews, testing and risk, test management and test analysis.

As well as holding an ISEB Foundation Certificate, those who apply for an ISEB Intermediate Certificate must either have over 18 months of software testing experience or have completed an accredited ISEB Intermediate Certificate training course. This is to ensure that you will be fully prepared for your examination. Plus when you have completed an accredited ISEB course this can be beneficial for your future career as it is excellent to put on your CV.
