It is not one hundred percent clear where History of coffee originates. It has however been around since the thirteenth century. Popular consensus is that a goatherd in Ethiopia could have discovered it. There are many theories as to it is origin but the most likely is that it emanates from Arabia.

In Yemen, Sufi monasteries roasted and brewed the beans of trees in the 15th century. This is similar to the way it is prepared today. During the next fifty years, the famous brew spread to northern Africa, Turkey, Persia and the rest of the Middle East.

The work coffee comes from the wind of the bean. Arabic translation is qahhwat albun, Dutch koffie, or Turkish kahve. In the sixteen hundreds coffee houses were very popular and this soon spread to the United States of America. In most of Europe woman were forbidden from entering these establishments although this did not seem to apply in Germany.

Many people believed that this drink had many medical benefits. Some of these benefits were listed in a book written by a person known as M. P. The title of the book was A Character of coffee and coffeehouses. In the book, it is mentioned that giddiness and cleansing of the stomach can be sorted out by ingesting coffee.

There are varieties of ways in which this brew can be served. Dip brewed, percolated and French pressed to name a few. It can be consumed black, with a milk substitute such as a powdered creamer or milk, real milk and cream. Sweeten it with sugar or artificial creamer. Some drink it cold in the form of iced coffee. A shot of the drink with hot water is referred to as Espresso. Cafe serving the powder with steamed milk can create Latte.

Now that there is a better understanding of the History of coffee, people will now be better equipped to make a great cup of this delicious brew. Naturally best is a varied term as people all have different tastes. Adding hot chocolate to this can also taste very nice.
