You will need to unscrew the tabs, removing the plastic cover so you can see the bulb from the inside of the trunk. You will then need to push and turn at the same time to unscrew the bulb. This should come out without much effort.
You want to put the new bulb into a clean connection, so take a wire brush and clean it out. Once you have that ready to go and all corrosion gone, screw the new bulb in the cleaned out socket. Don't forget that you will need to push and turn it at the same time to get it to go in. There are minuscule bumps that will stand out on the base of the bulb, line those up in order to screw it in correctly. Don't forget to put the plastic cover or lens back on to protect the bulb.
