Years after the war a German Dr. Rudolf Skelnar renewed interest in kombucha and employed it in his treatment of cancer patients, metabolic afflictions, high blood pressures and diabetes. The kombucha culture appears like a white rubbery pancake and is really a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast and therefore called scoby in short. The other benefits of kombucha tea are its medicinal values for metabolic defects, allergies, cancer, digestive issues, candidiasis, hypertension, HIV, lingering fatigue and arthritis. The organic acids produced on fermentation with yeast and bacteria have enormous medical values. Glucoronic acid is the most important detoxifier of our body.
