I am the fiercely independent type. I bow to no man,yet I am learning to
submit to a G-d whose way I do not understand. I claim alliance to no religion.Even so, I am compelled to love those that are deemed unworthy by the dictates of man.
Passions that lay hidden in the dark were thrust into the light and I am forced to conquer those passions before they destroyed me.
One by one I have to face them. First there was lack of mercy, then unforgiveness, pride, laziness, and gluttony, just to name a few.I couldn't hide behind a banner of political correctness. These monsters were real and excusing them away would be to my detriment.
I had to swallow hard but then I listened to the bitter truth and now I am experiencing some of the sweet release, although I have a sneaky suspicion that as I slay one monster another one will arise and try to sit on the throne of my life.
My freedom to do, whatever I wanted to do was actually the cruelest form of bondage. I was drinking a six pack of soda a day because it was my body and I could do what I darn well please. My freedom was killing me.
I finally realized I would never realize my full potential nor do what I was created to do and enjoy it until I learned to do what I needed to do instead of what I wanted to do.
This is no easy task, but I have a crazy sense of peace in a world that seems upside down.It is an act of identifying the monsters.
